Felipe Massa announced that he would be retiring from F1 at the end of this season - and the fans at the Italian Grand Prix practice were quick to pay tribute.

 Massa spent the earlier portion of his career in Italy with a spell at Ferrari from 2006 to 2013.

His colleagues also joined in the accolades for Massa, with current team-mate Valtteri Bottas congratulating him on his career.

The famous Monza tifosi hung a banner from the stands reading simply: "Grazie Felipe."
